My Story: The Heart Behind the Work

Hello there,

I am Jabrita R. Pryor  A Trauma-Informed Speaker | Author| Leadership Strategist| Doula| Healing & Resilience Educator

I was raised in environments shaped by instability and generational pain, long before I had language for what trauma was or how deeply it could shape a life. From an early age, I learned how to survive experiences that were far beyond my control.

Those early years left a lasting imprint — not only on who I became, but on how I understand human resilience, emotional safety, and the long-term impact of unresolved trauma.

My healing did not happen quickly or easily. It required faith, honest reflection, difficult conversations, forgiveness, and sustained personal work. Over time, that process revealed something essential: the experiences I survived became the foundation for how I now help others heal, rebuild, and move forward with clarity and strength.

From Protecting My Own to Expanding my Home

Even in those early environments, I recognized the strength that emerged when I was protecting, nurturing, and advocating for others. I refused to let where we began define who we could become. Those formative experiences shaped my faith, sharpened my resilience, and clarified my calling. What once felt chaotic gradually revealed itself as purpose — and ultimately became the foundation for my work today.

From that journey, I developed Mind Your M.A.D.N.E.S.S.™, a trauma-informed, seven-step framework designed to help individuals and communities make sense of their experiences and move toward healing. Grounded in mindfulness and accountability, the framework guides participants through navigating, uncovering, processing, and releasing both past and present trauma.

More than a method, Mind Your M.A.D.N.E.S.S.™ is a structured pathway toward self-mastery, emotional regulation, and sustainable transformation.

Education & Professional Development

Over the past decade, I have studied behavioral patterns, emotional cycles, and generational trauma through hands-on work in social services, nonprofit leadership, and community-based support, including perinatal and family-centered care. This experience has shaped a trauma-informed approach to healing that integrates faith, emotional regulation, and transformational growth.

I am a Certified Trauma-Informed Professional, Certified Full Spectrum Doula, and Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP), as well as a published author, speaker, and facilitator. I am currently completing my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) with plans to pursue a Master of Social Work (MSW).

My work blends lived experience with formal education and training, faith with evidence-informed practice, and compassion with practical, trauma-responsive tools. I have had the privilege of supporting individuals, families, and communities during some of their most vulnerable and transitional moments always with care, accountability, and respect for ethical standards and practices.

Healing is Holy and Revolutionary

My journey reflects what it means to become the healing that was once absent. I believe healing is both sacred and transformative, and that wholeness is not achieved through perfection, but through presence, truth, and intentional surrender.

Through Mind Your M.A.D.N.E.S.S. TM, I support individuals, families, and communities as they move toward clarity, restoration, and the possibility of a new legacy one rooted in truth, freedom, and embodied wholeness.

As a mother, daughter, sister, and a woman guided by faith and ancestral strength, my mission is grounded and clear: to help people reclaim their healing, restore emotional agency, and remember that life is not defined by what breaks us, but by what we choose to build after the breaking.
